CODE OF CONDUCT

ReThink Theatrical Code of Conduct

ReThink Theatrical provides free and accessible storytelling to local communities. With an educational and creative approach, we produce professional-quality theater for everyone. Not only do we seek to provide an accessible theater experience for all those involved in our activities, we also are committed to ensuring a safe environment for personal growth and fulfillment.

ReThink Theatrical does not tolerate harassment of company and production staff, cast members, pit members, volunteers, audience members, Board members, contracted vendors, community partners, or any other person involved in a ReThink-sponsored activity (in-person or virtual). At ReThink Theatrical, we recognize a shared responsibility to create and maintain an environment based on mutual respect and free of harassment for the benefit of all. While we encourage all participants in company activities to directly address conflict with one another in order to foster an open and honest community, ReThink Theatrical recognizes that sometimes, greater intervention is necessary.

All participants are expected to observe these rules and behaviors at all ReThink Theatrical-sponsored activities. Participation in the company’s productions, rehearsals, performances, meetings, events, or other activities signals a willingness to comply with this Code of Conduct.  Information for reporting incidents related to the Code will be available on the ReThink Theatrical website and included on all contracts.

In order to maintain a safe and productive environment, some behaviors are specifically prohibited. These include, but are not limited to:

  • stalking, whether physical or virtual

  • harassment, including jokes, comments, discrimination, or refusal of services or facilities based on a person’s race, color, religion, gender, gender expression or identity, pregnancy status, sexual orientation, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability

Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness something happening to someone else in violation of this Code, please submit a report or approach a company or production staff member as immediately as possible. The more information you are able to provide, the better ReThink Theatrical will be able to address Code reports.

Participants may also submit a report via our online Code of Conduct Reporting Form below. Staff members must submit a form if they are approached with a Code of Conduct concern within 24 hours so that there is a record of the report. If you wish to remain anonymous, you may ask a company or production staff member to submit the form for you.

Any breach of this Code of Conduct will result in an appropriate course of action, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • verbal or written warning

  • expulsion from productions, rehearsals, performances, meetings, events, or other activities

  • exclusion from future productions, rehearsals, performances, meetings, events, or other activities

If you wish to submit a report regarding one of these individuals and you wish to remain anonymous, you may speak with another company staff member about submitting the form for you.
