RETHINK

LEADERSHIP

Join Executive Director, Stephanie Bond and Artistic Director, Thomas Young, for a free workshop that explores how to confidently lead a group of creators, actors, designers, and volunteers to co-create professional-quality theater and storytelling. Learn how to coordinate and motivate a team of individuals, while facilitating impactful and meaningful conversations about making art together. Participants will walk away from this workshop with skills in the following areas: building and communicating a collaborative artistic vision for a production; how to fail; developing a team; managing conflict; working cooperatively with friends; and much more!

STEPHANIE L. BOND

Executive Director | ReThink Theatrical

Stephanie Bond has been a professional storyteller and educator for 10 years. She holds bachelors degrees from Rutgers University in both Theater Arts and English Literature, as well as a Masters Degree in Education and Developmental Theory. Stephanie strategically uses storytelling to encourage reflection, empathy, and growth in people from all backgrounds and identities. As an educator, she has had the privilege of working for Rutgers University, Fordham University, Raritan Valley Community College, and The College of New Jersey. This work has included program coordination, counseling, and crisis management surrounding: alcohol and other drug addiction and recovery; sexual assault and domestic violence prevention/outreach; social justice initiatives; building inclusive communities; and professional/leadership development.

 

Stephanie currently works as a freelance actress and Teaching Artist throughout New Jersey and New York City - performing, directing, creating arts curricula, and developing artists of all ages and levels of experience.  ReThink Theatrical allows Stephanie to blend her unique skills in theater, education, and storytelling to create positive change in her community.

THOMAS YOUNG

Artistic Director | ReThink Theatrical

Thomas Young comes from a nontraditional background with a variety of disciplines. He received his masters degree in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University as well as a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences and Music. He is currently the Creative Director at the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking, where he curates content for people across the country, wanting to build their communities through local arts and cultural programming. Young has received two NJASLA Student Merit awards for his thesis entitled "Isotopes in the Garden: a Narrative of the Atomic Age and its Legacy in the Global Landscape" and for his work on "WONDERLAND&YOU," an immersive Alice in Wonderland experience at the Rutgers Gardens with ReThink Theatrical. 

 

Thomas's theatrical background includes directing a variety of musicals and plays, such as Little Shop of Horrors (ReThink), co-directing Robin Hood (ReThink), STAGES: a Legacy in Revue (ReThink), WONDERLAND&YOU (ReThink), co-directing A Midsummer Night’s Dream (ReThink), HAIR (LTC), Next to Normal (Cabaret), and the Last Five Years (NJ Productions). In addition, he uses his vocal background to musically direct shows such as Cinderella (BRHS), Anyone Can Whistle (BRHS), Ordinary Days (BRHS), the Will Rogers Follies (BRHS), Pippin (BRHS), Seussical (Metuchen HS), and Merrily We Roll Along (LTC). With his background in theatrical productions and landscape design, Thomas continues to collaborate with other local artists to produce accessible art with, for, and by local communities.
